INTRODUCTION
It is the delight of every father to be trusted and obeyed by his child based on love and not compulsion. God is not exempted. His delight is that every human on earth respond to his love for mankind and that was the reason he sent Jesus Christ to die for all. 
God also desire to lead us in everything through His Spirit and that was the reason he promised in Joel 2:28 to send His Holy Spirit upon all flesh. And this promised started on the day of Pentecost with the first church in the upper room.

To allow and accept the Holy Spirit leading will save us from a whole lot of things.
Let us know this that the Holy Spirit is REAL and there is no how you ENCOUNTER THE HOLY SPIRIT AND DOUBT THE WORD OF GOD.

YES SOME PEOPLE COME TO CHURCH BUT THEY DOUBT THE EXISTENCE OF GOD YOU NEED TO EXPERIENCE THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD and YOU WILL NEVER DOUBT HIM EVER AGAIN. 
If we all form the habit of making decision based on what we can see only, then we will miss so much, because there are gazillion things we cannot see which control what we can see, that is the reason we need an ally or a senior partner who sees far beyond today.

Why must we allow God to lead us?
There are billions of reasons why God must lead us but the most important among these reasons is this; ‘We must allow God to lead us because He created us for a PURPOSE’.
(THINK ON THIS)

How do i allow the spirit of god to lead me:

1) “trust in the lord with all thine heart 
LESSONS FROM THE ISREALITES’ JOURNEY IN THE WILDERNESS (DEUTERONOMY 8 : 1 – 20)

• God chooses the path or route for every willing child of His. You don’t get to choose what to pass through or not to pass through BUT TRUST HIM. 
• There is always a reason or reasons for that route. In the beginning we may not like or understand the reason we are going through what we are going through but trust Him for in “the long-run GOD is always right”
• Sometimes your passing through some things is not because God does not love you like he loved your neighbour (Psalm 37:5,7), or that your past sins are the cause of your difficulties, or because you are not sacrificing enough, or uncountable reasons you may find PLEASE TRUST HIS LOVE AND HEART. BELIEVE THAT HE HAS FORGIVEN YOU WHEN YOU CONFESSED AND REPENTED.
• Based on HIS LOVE, we may not be promoted to another faced until we have learned all he wanted us to learn. So it is better we submit to his leading and not go our own way. TRUST HIM FOR HE WON’T LEAVE YOU IN THAT STAGE.
• No matter how horrible the situation is it will not swallow you so far God is the one leading you that way. The scorpion, fiery serpents, drought, etc could not harm the children of Israel just because God was leading through the pillar by night and cloud by day. TRUST HIM HE IS ABLE TO KEEP YOU TO THE END
• Don’t grumble even when it seems God is no more there with you. Trust HIM he will not abandon you in that situation.
• God will do you good at the end of it all not just in heaven but here on earth. For every examination passed there is promotion TRUST HIM FOR HE WILL BRING IT TO PASS.

2) Lean not unto thine own understanding. 
LESSONS FROM APOSTLE PAUL’S PERSONAL EXPERIENCE (ACTS 27: 1 – 44)

• Don’t make decision based on your knowledge because it is limited and cannot be compared to what the SPIRIT OF GOD knows (the master of the ship)
• Don’t make decision because of circumstance (vs 12) or good reason for the decision obey THE LEADING OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD, because you can get into a worst circumstance than the one you are trying to escape from.
• Sometimes when we make decision it looks good initially because we got what we desired but what we see can be deceptive. 
• Don’t make decision based on majority opinion. From experience it has been seen countless of time that With GOD MAJORITY DO NOT COUNTS. ONE WITH GOD IS MAJORITY.
• Even when you are certain of your findings please still cross check with the HOLY SPIRIT. 
• Do not be ashamed to voice what you perceived as a child of GOD either at work, or school, or in church, or in your family, etc. People may not believe you, or may even laugh at you still say it or pray about it so that you will not regret it later. Imagine Paul kept quiet..... 
• Don’t be happy when what you said actually come to pass, but learn to encourage people and pray for their safety and salvation.

3) In all your ways acknowledge him 
LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF KING DAVID – “A MAN AFTER MY HEART” (1 SAM 23: 1 – 13; 1 SAM 30: 1 – 10)

• Form the habit of always asking for the opinion and will of GOD over everything (2 Peter 2:9).
• The way we ask and what we ask matters. Are you demanding our way or following His leading. SOMETIMES WE ARE NOT SURE WE ARE GOING TO LIKE IT IF GOD SAID NO, SO WE GO AHEAD OR START THREATENING GOD. TRUST HIM HE WANTS THE BEST FOR YOU.
• Don’t be too proud to ask, even when the pressure to take a particular decision is so much.
• Don’t be afraid to follow after you received the LEADING FROM THE SPIRIT OF GOD.
• Don’t keep malice with God because you could not believe that some things will ever happen to you.

4) He shall direct thy paths                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      
MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH THE LEADING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

• PERCEIVED IN MY SPIRIT (PROV 11 : 8)
• I ASKED AND HE ANSWERED.
• I WAS ANGRY, MADE DECISION BUT HE CORRECTED AND HELP ME BACK

CONCLUSION
God DESIRES to lead you but you cannot hear or understand him without His HOLY SPIRIT (JOHN 16:12 – 13). The Holy Spirit opens your spiritual eye and ear, he interpret the will of God in a way you can understand. That is He ‘customize’ the instruction and help you to understand. 

If you are not born again, your spirit is dead to God, He cannot lead you because you are not one of His children. But you can change your status today, you need to accept Jesus as you LORD and SAVIOUR so that you can become the child of GOD (JOHN 1:12; ROMANS 8:14)


REMEMBER THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO BE HAPPY IN JESUS BUT TO TRUST AND OBEY. HAVE A FULFILLED LIFE.
