PURPOSE

Introduction: Giving pleasure is the ultimate utility of every creature. Anything short of that is a wasted venture in manufacturing. No manufacturer loves to waste material and would not want to create what will not function as designed. God as our manufacturer will never desire a wasted life. May our lives always give Him pleasure in Jesus’ Name.

What is Purpose? The original and actual intent for the creation of a thing.

Who gives Purpose? Genesis 1: 1-3, 26-28, Genesis 2: 7-8.
God is the ultimate designer of purpose e.g. man was created for fellowship, pleasure etc. The sun was created to give light in day time; moon is to give light in the night time etc.

Who is to fulfill Purpose? I John 3: 8-10.
God’s creations are to fulfill purpose. Jesus gave us example (I Peter 2: 21) according to Hebrews 10: 7. See also John 18: 37.

If you don’t fulfill purpose, what will happen?
1)     Abandonment.
2)     Frustration – Haggai’s Example.
3)     Abuse is inevitable. You may be doing other things.
4)     Destruction: Loss of eternal life. Luke 13: 6


In conclusion, the greatest joy of any product is not just to get to the end user but to fulfil the actual purpose for manufacture. Are you truly useful to God? Your parents, your church and your environment?
