FOCUS ON WHAT OR WHO?
ECCLESIASTES 7:8
·
To start at all on anything we must focus on Jesus.
·
To finish well or strong you must focus on Jesus.
WHY MUST I FOCUS ON JESUS
-
2Timothy 4:1 Jesus shall judge the quick and
dead
-
Because he finished well (john 19:30) he can help you finish strong too.
-
He has overcome the world for us john 16:33
TO
FINISH STRONG WE MUST REMOVE OUR FOCUS DAILY AND CONSTANTLY FROM THE FOLLOWING:
A.
Self – 1 Corinthians 10:12 take heed lest you
fall. We are not standing now because we are strong, but the mercy of god kept
you and i till now and the same mercy and grace is needed daily to finish well.
Because when we look or focus on ourselves, we will either see our weaknesses
or strength. Our weaknesses will tell us or inform us of the fact that we are
inadequate for anything; (project, race, heaven
etc) and this has stopped people from starting or continuing in what
they are destined or purposed to do. Focusing on our strength will mis-inform
us about how serious and difficult a situation is, and this can cause us to
live carelessly. There is no help available for the strong Matthew 9:12-13.
And lastly on self if all our
projects are based on our personal goals, ambition growth and wellbeing we are
selfish – and it will be difficult for a selfish person to finish well. Success or significance, what is
your take. John 12:25
B.
Others – 1 Corinthians 4:3-7 to succeed and
finish strong in anything especially in this Christian race you must remove
your focus from other people’s strength, weaknesses or achievement. Psalm 73:1
C.
The world and its pleasure: 2 Timothy 4:10
(Demas), 1 John 2:15-17. Luke 21:34-36
ENDURANCE
– 2 TIMOTHY 2, 3 EPHESIANS 4:2
Be prepared to endure. Another word for
endure is long suffering Hebrew 6 13a, 15
HOPE
– HEBREWS 11:1, COLOSSIANS 1:23, 27 ROMANS 8:24-25, 2 CORINTHIANS 4:18, PSALM
27:13
PROPER
KNOWLEDGE – LUKE 19:41-44
PRUDENCE
CONCEPT – DON’T OVER VALUE PROFIT OR UNDER VALUE EXPENSES/COST
DISCIPLINE
- 1 CORINTHIANS 9:24-27
