Introduction:
Many
reasons can compel anyone to go into business. Some go into it based on
passion, others do so because by family inclinations. Some others merely
identify existing needs and choose to meet it. However, whatever the reasons
may be, when you venture into a business, there are general expectations such
as profit making and the growth of the business etc that cut across. Remember,
whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well. We shall therefore examine
some basic strategies to help our businesses.
Winning Strategies for small scale business:
(1) Set up your business to meet a need.
Usually people say nothing lasts forever but any wise business person
will first identify various needs to be met by the immediate audience. Types of
needs:
-Always Needs
-Once in a while Needs
-Daily Needs
-Recent Needs
Don’t go looking to make and sell a CAR when you have not even designed
and sold a CARD
(2)
Find a working example.
There is virtually no business that you want to go into that has not
existed before or that does not have something similar to it. Find someone who
is into it, understudy them preferably work for them for sometime before
initiating gradual plans for yours.
(3) Never be afraid to start small.
Of course, nothing big ever starts
big. Every house begins with the first block so, instead of investing your
entire capital at once, start with a minimal amount for a trial version. Let
that minimal capital run through a number of times and then gradually increase
the capital.
